Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I was at a professional reception thingy last night, mostly men and of a certain age.

However, there was one youngish man I chatted to about professionally things. He sent me an email this morning and ended it with:

"I've included my personal email - just in case".

What does that even MEAN?

You made an impression on him Lickety

Either he respected your position and professionalism and thinks of you as someone he could work alongside or may be able to help him professionally

Or you wooed him with your friendly intelligent conversation, maturity and rack - and he would like to know more about you

Either way, it is a positive

My rack was on show. After trying on all my lovely dresses I thought I should wear one.

That last line was after all the professional gubbins. I suspect he is considerably younger than me.

Although, I think I might have looked alright last night as one of the men that was a bit older than me was shocked when I mentioned part of the conversation referenced the year I was born.

I'm just going to ask him what he means and deal with him thinking I'm weird for asking such a question.

I wonder if sending his phone number from his work email might cause an unwanted trail and this is a suitably ambiguous message?

I think we sometimes spend so much time in the swinging fraternity that we forget that 'outsiders' may find us attractive too, even if that attraction is simply an interest in knowing more about you

Having had the pleasure of your company, I can confirm that you hold an enchatment; there is an openness, a warmth, a ready wit, a smile, an intelligence about you that is just so natural

Why shouldn't a guy see that and find it attractive, regardless of his age, especially as you probably share common interests and values too?

As I said yesterday though, whatever his motive, I only see it as a positive reflection of your meeting

If I’d given you or any Lady my personal email or number it’s for one reason. To keep in touch.

Could be just to be friends but that’s generally when you’ve chatted to someone for some time.

If it’s a one off chat and then personal details. I think he wants to get to know you more intimately

Got LinkedIn for that.

Send a personal message, something simple like how’s your weekend going. Then thank him for wanting to keep in touch by giving you his email.

It then puts the onus on him to show his true intentions. Hopefully that’ll be him asking you out.

"I was at a professional reception thingy last night, mostly men and of a certain age.

However, there was one youngish man I chatted to about professionally things. He sent me an email this morning and ended it with:

"I've included my personal email - just in case".

What does that even MEAN?

"

What a lovely compliment

"Thinking about it OP if he gave you his email is it possible he is attached and wouldn't give you his number instead?

Indeed. That thought has crossed my mind. He couldn't mislead me about his name and workplace as we met at a professional thingy.

Perhaps he was hoping you would poach him to work for/ with you?

That is highly unlikely. He's in a very niche role in a different field.

"

Ooooh definitely a flirt then.

"Lickety' has been offline for two days now. Do you think she's finally eloped with the mysterious you-know-who? "

I hope so.

I've been ghosted by a man who contacted me! He must be on here, surely?

Central

It was acknowledgement of a good connection with you, that he's open to explore further. He's not signalled any further clarity, so it could be for you both to develop and explore, if it seems right to you.

"He wants mamma x

Men with professional power often do, in my experience.

"

What is professional power? Asking for a friend?
