"Tom, you always seem to see the negative side of positive news. This came from articles lauding the improved qualitt of the water in the Thames, and the increased number if species it supports. And they're venomous not poisonous. " He's just nervous, they are getting closer to Essex all the time and they are looking for revenge

"These buggers are poisonous.. Should they be allowed in the Thames with human bathers ? Who is bathing in the Thames? ![]() ![]() Not me now these buggers are there. I read that they deliberately inject poison I to their prey with sharp needles on their fins. My advice. Stay out of the sea

"Who has eaten one to find out if it's poisonous? ![]() ![]() They don't release it as such. It will enter a 'body' if a 'body' touches the few poisonous spines in front of their dorsal fins. They don't attack humans.

Should the 'air breathers' have their playing in the water stopped by a 'water dwelling' shark that can't come on land.. Hmmmmmmmmmmm ?????" We should let the sharks come and play on land too, for the sake of equality. Sure they'd love to play on the beach.

"The Thames needs to be much cleaner. It's great that some wildlife is making a comeback but there's so much more to do. Raw sewage is still going in ![]() Maybe the raw sewage is there to kill the poisonous sharks and dissolve the shopping trolleys.

"Haha - talk about being over melodramatic! First off - it's not all over the news - I had to dig deep to find it! Second - if you're going for a swim in the tidal Thames I think it's safe to say there are far more risks to consider than being stung by a fish (like drowning!) Never heard of anyone getting stung by a spur dog in the Thames - even googled it to check! & Third - spurdogs "venom" is probably on par with being stung by a nettle, hardly worth worrying about, " Well if it's on sky news, BBC News and not the local Trumpington Gazzete then as far as I am concerned then it's all over the news.. of course I cannot vouch for your search engine skills..
