When you boil cauliflower have you added bicarbonate of soda to the water before you start to boil it not much just the teaspoon handle tip to scoop some up and add not a thick scoop just little say about half size of an aspirin crushed.

By adding this it daftens but not break it down stays whole

If you want to stretch it out further, a portion of mash (with milk, butter, cheese, mustard and egg yolks). Getting hungry now.
