How close to home would you consider a meet. Was contacted by a couple who live in the same village as me who want to meet, but I have to be discrete. Worried if I meet them and they don't keep the meet a secret, my friends and family could find out. How close to home do people feel is too close and how can you place your ultimate trust in people you haven't met yet?

I won’t meet anyone in the same town as me. That old saying “don’t shot on your own doorstep” springs to mind

If she's in the same postcode, she's too close for you bro.

We wouldn't meet anyone in our nearest town/villages. We value our privacy too much.

Each to their own but if you feel uncomfortable by it then you know where you stand.

Sometimes you have to listen to your head not your heart.

Are you married op?. If so I'd definitely not meet anyone too close, it could get messy.

No no no no. If you value your privacy (as you say you do) it’s not worth the risk. I’ve had a few backfires and didn’t see them coming. as likely nor will you.

I'd just see it as being handy but that's me and my friends and family know me so I don't worry about what they already know as I'm open about it

I'd quite happily meet someone who lived in the same block of flats as I do..

I don't have any issues at all but if someone asked me to be discreet.. I can be

You like swingers clubs - you could easily bump your next door neighbour / or a family member even in there. Even if it’s not near to your village. Speaking from experience here

Your couple might be thinking the same thing about you but are hopeful you’ll be decent and respect their privacy too - maybe they don’t want to travel too far away and would sooner find trustworthy local friends x

I’m meeting someone tomorrow who lives in the same area. I don’t see a problem.

Local's actually better for us, we don't have lots of free time so travelling miles would be too time consuming. As long as everyone's discreet if you bump into each other in Sainsbury's then it's not a problem.

Irrelevant of distance really. I went on holiday with a friend in September, I bumped into my ex husband the following week, he asked if I had been in a particular town last week. Yep, we had holidayed in the same town in the same week. You can bump into anyone anywhere.
