Somewhere In The Ether…

I actually sewed up a hole in my trouser seam about a month ago.

I was really rather pleased with my seamstress skills

I have never darned a sock but I'm pretty handy with a needle otherwise. I wouldn't recommend wonder web for socks or buttons though

I have to sew badges onto jumpers pretty regularly.

It's never ending.

My worst sewing task used to be name tags in school uniform. I eventually cottoned on to indelible markers and initials on the size label

Bizarrely I'm skilled at sewing but still pass it all to my mum. My story is that it gives her something to do in retirement and I'm sticking to it.

My nan used to have a thing called a Buttoneer (I think) that fired buttons on to your clothes without using a needle and thread...I was easily impressed as a small child

I attempted to sew a button on a blouse a couple of weeks ago - I’m not kidding, I could have driven to the shops bought a new blouse and driven back in the time it took me to thread that needle

Sewed my eldest sons hoodie where the neck was coming loose and his school pe t shirt he ripped. I don't mind doing general repairs.

Have just bought a load of cool buttons to replace the pain crappy ones on my cardigans to make them look more me

Not darned a sock for a long while - no point here - one of them is probably missing anyway lol

Buttons - loads.

Wonderweb is good for hems - who cba to do hidden stitching

I love actually making things though - most recently making costumes for club theme nights - I made a pennywise suit last week and was proper proud of it x

I was thinking this last night, through gritted teeth, as I delicately performed blanket stitch x10,000. Only another 10,000 more to go
