Eh, is this post from the past?

I’m quite certain, like 100% sure, that there are many women in construction.

That isn’t much of an indicator that there aren’t any though.

In an indicator that they are severely under represented in the trade though?

What’s being done to fix that?

No of course not

7 years on 30 plus building sites around the midlands

No indication at all

Is construction being presented to women and girls as a viable career opportunity? Is the construction industry institutionally sexist? Do women perceive construction as a "man's job"? Are women in general uninterested in the industry?

So many questions.

I haven’t seen all too many in 22 years in the building game either. I know it’s trade dependent and some are lighter than others but I advise anyone male or female to avoid it and do anything else if possible as it wrecks you physically. I’d watch my dad go about the house like a crab after a days graft and now I getting to that point I often wish I’d took a different career route.

Not at all saying women are not capable I know a woman in her late 50s who has MS can out work most men I’ve seen her shovel and barrow tons of material on her large property

All very valid points

My thinking is

If more women were in the industry it would stop a lot of poor behaviours
