"Leading on from a conversation with my hubby about playing (and why I'm not really any more) I was wondering.... When you play at clubs or parties, or basically anywhere that isn't pre-arranged in a bajillion messages beforehand to get to know each other, do you ever ask (or have you been asked) what your partner in play actually likes or do you just dive in with what you enjoy and hope it's well received? Personally I have always tried to have an eye to eye moment to find out what makes them feel good... Can't remember the last time I was afforded the same courtesy though Oh and "yeah, you like that don't ya!" doesn't count as asking! " In short yes.

"I think it would take the fun and spontaneity out of the encounter if your every move had to be vetted by the other party beforehand." this for me. I rarely talk to my play partners before playing.
