So a mate of mine just had a new hip, he was fairly young it was an old military injury anyway he wants to know when he can have sex again ? I’m no physio. So it’s over to you fab. Don’t let him down haha! He’s pretty miffed coz online says 8 weeks. Let’s put the poor bloke out his misery. Anyone had a hip done and got back into the swing of things soon ish? also what positions work best?

I think he has to wait for it to settle in and then he's good to go.

Did he ask his surgeon or his GP?

I have met a lot of Fab people with replaced hips, socially, and have been to clubs with some in the past. They were all active and enjoying the mobility.

He's better off waiting at least 8 weeks after that as long as he takes it easy for a bit he will be grand it is just like new and no pain either which is a massive bonus

I should add hes now two weeks post op lol.

He had a really shit time with it he hasn’t been given a physio or anything for advice. I was a nurse but never did trauma and ortho so I had no idea.

Oh and no it’s not me who will be sorting him out haha we’re purely friends.

You and me both. He’s had a really poor experience. He didn’t even see the surgeon after apparently just got discharged and told it was all on his discharge summary. They seem to be rushing people out the doors lately. He was waiting so long for this. He’s got one of the new ceramic made to measure hip joints too so you’d think they’d want to talk to him but no

He's probably not going to want sex for at least 8 weeks.

It takes time to recover, Ash had both his hips replaced before he was 35 and said sex was the last thing on his mind post surgery.

Weirdly he is wanting it already. He’s recovering fairly well. He was on about doing some gym stuff tomorrow I was like noooo! I wonder if it’s mind over matter and that he’s horny but if he tried it would hurt too much he said he’s still taking pain relief so can’t imagine he’d manage a session lol. Men and their dicks!

The titanoum ones are the best came out years ago one of siblings is a specialist in major bones surgery
