Why is it Dogs like to roll in things that dont smell nice..

My dogs are smelling and not sure what thay have been in today .. Bath again for 3 of them , lol Not sure why thay do this.

If you're referring to things like Fox urine I think that they do it to disguise their scent and make themselves more effective hunters, its a natural instinct.

when u wash a dog you remove its natural scents and endorphines they use to attract partners so they roll in the strongest scent they can find to stand out

dogs are very instinctive animals maybe it's trying to change their scent so they are less recognisable when hunting

Apparently if wolves find something interesting they roll in it to bring the smell to the rest of the pack. So may be related to that - the dog wants its owner to share the interesting thing its found!

ooo well thay stick and all outside so not coming in untill stink go .. lol be bubbles and stuff for them , I am sharing.. nice smells. lol

If your dog rolls in something unpleasant, cover stain with tomato sauce, leave to dry, brush off , clean and removes smell.

one of my dogs rolls in horse crap, every time we go out, without fail, I bath him every bloody day. its the walk home that annoys me, you don't half get some funny looks walking a dog caked in shit

well my dogs love horse crap and fox I bath all 5 only to do it again next day , lol not sure why but I think they hate being clean .
