What year if it’s bween a 08-13 then the most off it is rebrand Ford parts take the serial numbers off the parts and see you can find the same part brand Ford

Samcrack got quited 30k to fix his db9 from Aston

Looked up the parts and sorted it for 3k in Ford parts

If a cars in warranty go to a dealer. If not go to a independent family run specialist.

Had a VW years ago. Was low on acceleration and power. Twice took to it 2 different VW dealers who kept it the whole day then claimed the couldn't find a fault ( before the days of plug in computer engines).

Took to a VW independent, diagnosed problem after a couple minutes drive test.

Lots of times in big garages the mechanic doing the work can be a newbie apprentice, supposedly supervised. But you pay £50+ ph labour charges.

I thought that as a brand they were dead and buried. Then they were resurrected through an awful reality show as a luxury.

Great marketing but a fucking awful car that no one can drive well. A manager at work, had one and he spent more on repairs than the car was worth.

Buy a copy of Landrover Owner International and seach the Ads or go on their website and do the same.

First thing - if you have a range rover buy another car, you'll need this as the r/rover will be spending most of its time in the garage

Have a look online for Range Rover forums/owners groups in your area.

They will be able to offer useful advice/support.

Swinging website not really the best place to discuss motor mechanics.

Look for book of face groups for your type of vehicle, there are some seriously knowledgeable people on them. Mart had a P38, and saved an absolute fortune by joining these groups and chatting to others about them. Really great for cheap parts, and problem solving.

I had a problem with my start/ignition button. Then I had a fault with the clutch and when they opened that up they said I needed all these other things that should be replaced now as they already had the gearbox thing open. But mines not a proper Range Rover it’s only an evoque so it’s a diesel manual.

The level of service and attitude from the main dealers when it comes to aftercare got so bad for us that we sold and vowed never to return. We had a variety of RR sports over the years and also an SVR. Good looking cars but shit when u scratch underneath the surface. Hope u get your issue resolved OP. Defo the right call going to an independent specialist. Our local main dealer borders on fraud with the claims they made over some issues on our last one

It’s called Estoril Blue. That was the colour we had. Mrs Nuru loved it, I didn’t rate it. The car couldn’t handle the power. You put your foot down and it felt like it was a monster truck. But yeah it looked good and sounded great. Our main dealer is THAT BAD it made us sell the car. I had to threaten them with legal action to correct something under warranty that they concocted a lie to try and get out of doing. Never again.

Next year I think I’m gonna change, I’d love to get an F pace jaguar SVR but way over my budget. I have seen quite nice E pace ones the R dynamic model in white but with black alloys. Plus can get a friends and family voucher for jaguar cos my cousin works in TATA steel and they get money off certain car brands.

You posted an “urgent” question, people replied and you went awol for 6 hours. So clearly wasn’t that urgent. And then you got all narky and crotchety and had a sense of humour failure.

You want a senior answer? Look up Parker’s reliability reports and don’t buy range rovers, they are extremely unreliable and their dealers have a terrible reputation when it comes to aftersale service.

Yeah someone I know got a huge discount off a new Jag 4x4 not sure the model but was a crazy discount. Incidentally she was offered it after throwing an Evoque back at them that was riddled with issues. Our current SUV is Audi, the difference in the build quality compared to LR is chalk & cheese.

They are an indipendant LR/RR specialist.

Unfortunately from my experience Range Rovers are shit, and I would never have another one.

Over the past 12 years I think we probably owned 5 different RR. To be fair we were pretty lucky with reliability, never had any major issues. A few minor niggling ones. But like u say, it was the support. There trained technicians are either very poorly trained or the ownership of the dealer didn’t want or care to keep a customer happy.

Ad blue ‘overfilling’ issues anyone ?

I’ve had 3 and the only one I had issues with was a P38 but it was old so wasn’t surprised. The 2 sports were great cars. Admittedly I never use dealers as they’re all shocking from what I can tell.

The whole Land Rover/Range Rover fleet are fault riddled and unreliable. I know a number of people who have had them from new and they spent a lot of time back at the showroom getting repaired; that was after lots of time on the phone trying to get them in for repairs as the after sales service is shocking

I drove Range Rovers for work for 14 years, Discoveries, Vogues, Defenders. When they work they are great, the caveat being when they work. With the exception of two Vogues that were retained purely for political reasons, they were all replaced with Japanese and then German(which were almost as bad). Blew one end of a propshaft clean off an X5 one time! The Defender went anywhere but it was built to be driven by a deformed dwarf. So uncomfortable and the draughtiest cab ever.

They were very helpful when we had issues with our Sport and saved us a lot on labour costs. They also helped with vogues and evogues on the odd occasion too
