Tunisia was beautiful but I felt uncomfortable and unsafe from the minute I arrived.

"Tunisia was beautiful but I felt uncomfortable and unsafe from the minute I arrived."

The men think all western women are game. I saw ladies mobbed.

"Tunisia was beautiful but I felt uncomfortable and unsafe from the minute I arrived."

That's what my daughter said when she travelled there with her husband. She's quite dark and they took her for a native. Some openly disapproved that she had married a 'westerner'.

East London

I went years ago and loved it.

I'd like to take my grandchildren there.

I felt safe, but we didn't visit markets or towns alone, only with a tour.

I went years ago and the guys were all over the lady I was with. It was a no win situation so we stayed in the hotel for 6 of the 10 nights. That was years ago though

Same

Outside of the hotels, it was really run down, messy and just depressing.

Nothing interesting to see or do.

Nope, only good thing about it was going out to the desert to watch the sunset, hotel was shocking, locals at the markets in the complex were grabby and leery, food was meh.

That's what my daughter said, even though she was with her husband at the time.

South Wales

Never go back there was on the actual beach a week before the attack, came home and couldn't believe what I seen on the news. When we was there though the hotel was great and so was the staff, but going outside the hotel was a nightmare constantly being asked to buy things quite aggressively at times.

Lovely Islamic architecture and Roman ruins.

Go to Carthage and find the old harbour.

Eat Tunisian eggs and harissa spiced food.

Be a bit brutal with some shopkeepers but haggle for some nice things. Have fun.

East London

I went back in 2001 and had a great time.

We were at a beach hotel and didn't go into the markets, but went on a 2 day coach tour of the country and never felt unsafe or hassled.

I'd go back to the same hotel again as there's so much to do there, and the staff were lovely.

Been there once years ago. Never again. Wife didn't feel safe and had to watch the kids 24/7. Never again even if I got it for free.

Tourist resorts are horrible, we were told to be aware of blokes hanging about looking for women & kids in hotel we stayed at. Came home a week early.

Vile.

Awful. Would never go back. Made the mistake of going out alone, didn’t feel safe, men grabby and touching inappropriately and not taking no for an answer.
