So K has had her filters down for a couple of days now and of course along comes the inevitable guy with the "Hey, I'm working in your area" message.

Now is it just me or is it the case that no man had ever received a similar message from a woman on here?

Ladies, what turns you off from travelling for work, and why are none of you visiting the Lincolnshire area?

I'm travelling tomorrow for work. Already had an offer for the place I'm travelling to. Same when I went to Nottingham in Sept. And usually several guys a week offer a hotel meet in my town when they're visiting.

I've never ever messaged a man suggesting the same.

All my pilot friends I’ve met it’s been because they were down for simulator sessions at Gatwick. So I am quite happy to hear from pilots who are down in the area for work...

Anyone else would be a hell of a lot more work for them to get me out of my cosy house haha

Ladies don't work.. their place is in the home and kitchen obviously so no such request exists.

And I do post on my status whenever I am in another area and have some free time- though a social is mostly my aim.

I rarely have the time when travelling for work and I prefer to get to know people first anyway so that's not really practical.

You mean to imply that these hard working men aren't focusing on the job at hand?

Unfortunately the boss only has the one shop so I'm a little bit stuck for travelling for work unless I go and rock up at a random shop

Not at all . I think some employers are just more generous when it comes to these things. I'm usually on a evening train after finishing work and checking in to my hotel about 9/10pm,up at 6/7 to get ready for breakfast before whatever I'm travelling for then booked on the first train back home once I'm due to finish .

I have been known to do this in the past when I've been in Scotland.

Mixed reactions from guys agreeing to meet and bottling it or thinking it's a wind up.

It happens a lot to me, I live half a mile away from a big hotel and Spa complex so it's not surprising

You already know us so that's one thing off the list and you could stay in ours instead of in hotel. It's a great plan isn't it?

I travel to see family, I wouldn’t have the opportunity to message a guy as by the time I’ve arrived and had a cuppa I've already had several messages asking if I’m free as they've seen I’m local

We get roughly three or four messages a year from woman who are working in the area and wish to meet. The problem is that often they are blank or hidden profiles and never, I repeat never are of a standard that makes us think the profile is real or that we would want to actually risk meeting.

For my sins, I have, many years ago, been that shameless hussy who's had a couple of glasses of wine (thanks business account), staying in some wanky hotel thanks to work and then logged on browsing for a good dicking. Twice I've done it, twice I had a lot of fun. So yeah, it can happen.

As I live near a place (it’s still at least a mile away) where truck drivers park up for the night, I get quite a few offers most evenings.

Sure I’ll glam up for a chance to play in the back of an lorry, with a guy who probably hasn’t showed for some considerable time.

Edit* The shower thing isn’t a criticism of the drivers themselves, more that the facilities for HGV drivers are terrible in this country.

I have messaged if I'm in the area for a while. I don't travel for work the way that I used to, so I've not done it on here, but on hookup sites if I was travelling alone I would quite often look at people based where I was travelling to and arrange to meet a couple of people while I was there.

I wouldn't ever do it if I was travelling with colleagues or was only staying somewhere for one night, but otherwise why not? Better than spending my evening alone in front of hotel telly!
