Yo yo yo.

Ok now that you’ve realised I’m clearly not cool I shall continue.

Random rant but is it just me or are many of the “hot pics” not all that great compared to ones on profiles? & how do they pic up traction? I’m all my years on here I’ve seen some amazing pics on various profiles that will never get the love & appreciation they deserve. If you’re a dude & I fab your pic, it’s because I appreciate it as a well taken photo. In fact, I’m off to fan some mens pics now.

I often wonder why some pics make it to lists and others not especially when some are quite dull and unimaginative imo.

I tend to do some random, colourful pics that are often complemented on but I never soar any sizzling heights.

Im guessing people have a following externally to this site and also accept any friend request that comes their way. I like to keep my circle smaller so I guess it has an affect.

My pics are a true reflection of who I am as an individual and I love them even if others are less enthused.

We only post pics we have taken with our phones when having fun. They always gain lots of fabs. But we post them as a memory of our time here and what we hope Shows what we are like as a couple, and in turn attract people we want to meet .

Fab’d a couple of yours that are really cool.

It’s obviously going to be women who top the list because, you know, men. But sometimes you see some awesome ones. There was one I’ll always remember of a guy doing a one handed handstand on top of a mountain & it looked amazing. It had about 10 fabs.

I suppose it’s just because I like photography that it irritates me haha.

I once got on to page 7 of hot pics. I was freaked when I saw it and put my photo to hidden. I just put photos up so people know "what they're getting" and are taken before fab meets or getting ready for work.

Because when you upload a picture I don’t know if the default is set to your gender. But you can choose in the options when uploading who’s in the picture Male, female, couple or Trans. She’s clicked on Male when uploading…

You see the same people at the top because they've got there once, been hotlisted by possibly thousands, which then makes it easier to get to the top page again and then it kind of repeats itself.

But then again, some pictures are very lucky and just uploaded at the right time. Some people work hard to stay at the top, fab this photo, change location, update status often with add me as a friend etc. And others have been here years so will have built up a big fan base that way.

I think there's lots of beautiful women on hotpics but it's not a true reflection of who is the hottest on Fab. I think that's quite subjective.

Years ago I was meeting a girl on here & she posted a pic which ended up I think number 2 on the first page of hot pics. She then got messages saying she was clearly fake…from people who were normally at the top of the hot pics list. It can get really catty haha

We had one of ours hit page 1 over last weekend, once it's there things go a bit crazy.

Still not managed to catch up on all the messages that got over that few days.

But as for your original question we do think that alot, not all, but alot of the pics on the most fabbed are not as good as can be found elsewhere. In fact the pic of ours that was up there we don't class as good as many of our others.

I have to say I am very baffled when it comes to hot pics and what gets fabbed and what doesn’t.

I have made it to page 2 a couple of times and page 3 a few more but that hasn’t been with a huge number of fabs.

There is an obvious disparity between men and women fabbing pics.

I always try to make an effort to get the best shot I can with mine and hopefully the pic itself tells a story or at least drives the imagination a little.

Then when I look at hot pics I wonder why I make the effort that I do, though I know that they one who do fab them appreciate the effort and artistic value.

It's just an algorithm. Build a following by posting regularly what the largest audience (single men) like. They hotlist and fab photos when they are first posted. The photos then end up on hot pics where more people see them and hotlist. And so on.

Instagram is the same. It doesn't matter. What matters is that you take and like photos that you enjoy.

Fab only shows the highest fabbed photo of the member in the hot pics list of the last 12 hours per category. So a couple could have a hot pic in mf category and female category but not two in mf category .

I think it's a bad idea uploading pics expecting people to like or Fab them as it only leads to disappointment if it doesn't do as well you hope.

Can remember that it used to let you have more than 1 in the hot pic cat at any one time but this changed a few years ago and it probably does make it more fair as a lot of the time it's just the pics in the hot list itself th just will get the extra fabs. And most of that only happens on page 1.

Yes have noticed this. Put it down to tactical release by the wannabe top fabbers. To avoid diluting their fanbase vote. Release a fresh pic every few days rather than a load at once. Males sense.

I have suspected this for some time.
