... I'm rubbish at it

Do you think it's a talent ya've either got or not got? Did you learn to flirt? or did it just come naturally? Why is it so feck'n difficult for some of us? lol!

I can be having a perfectly fun and confident time, then someone will flirt with me and I still panic and just dunno what to say back! lol!

I'm sure I give out a disinterested 'message' at times because of it

Why can't I do it?!

I flirt all the time, I think its something that's defined by your successes as a youth.

I grew up on a holiday park so would meet 100's of new people a month. Having confidence to speak to new people without fear of rejection is one thing, but mastering how to handle rejection only makes you more confident.

Yeah, I think that might be me too. doesn't bother me if it get's me nowhere, just gotta ask anyway.. Just when I see others flirting on the threads it looks really fun and always makes me smile, would be nice to join in sometimes

I prefer the direct approach, this way, I do not live the rest of my life pondering "what if's".

Not sure about overt public display of affection in the form of flirting and love-in's on a message board, as some of them are really cringe-worthy, IMHO.

I only do it to/with one person as fun and games as I know it will not lead to anything. He knows who he is!

lol! In a rock club once this guy came over he chatted a bit and told me he had 2 tickets to see a band, I seriously though he was trying to offload the 2 tickets and said thanks very much but I didn't like the band and he should offer them to someone else lol! he looked perplexed and left and my mate just shook her head at me in disbelief she still takes the piss about that one

Think confidence has a lot to do with it and other than in the sack I don't have much confidence around members of the opposite sex lol

I am really bad at flirting and being able to tell when I am being flirted at. I even had a friend that used to have to tell me when I was being hit on so I would know. It's ok being confidant but it sometimes comes down to the belief that someone can fancy you

I have an even 'better' example of totally missing that someone was interested in me. I still kick myself.

I'm rubbish at flirting and at noticing when someone is interested in me. I tend to take it as just being friendly or just banter.

I also don't know how to handle it when I think someone might be interested and I also send fuck off vibes. In fact I tend to send 'stay away' vibes so often people don't approach me to try in the first place.

I've never been 'picked up' and all my boyfriends have been men I've asked out. Here, I'm fine with men expressing an interest, (maybe because it's more overt and obvious), but in the "real world" I'm totally different. Perhaps it's down to my inner control freak wanting to be the one making the choices and doing the asking.

I'm curious to see how I fare at a club, when I finally get my behind along to one.

Nothing wrong with a good bit of flanter!

I sometimes forget in even doing it - bars, pubs, supermarket checkouts - and especially on here!

It's fun, providing its done in the right way - not creepy, cringeworthy or cheesy - although if ther'e's been prior interaction tre olds cheesy line is often fun! And it's harmless fun as long as you dont ever go too far and give the wrong idea!

I am also rubbish at flirting and knowing someone is flirting with me too!! Tony on the other hand is sooo good at it, he tries to give me tips and i get really excited thinking I am gonna just go for it and when am faced with the situation I freeze.

I too think I give out uninterested signals but I just get flustered
