It's seeds INSIDE.

e.g tomato is a fruit.

Fruit just means the part of the plant that carries the seed.

A lot of people think fruit means a healthy dessert or a gayman.

Peppers and chilli have seeds inside them

strawberries have seeds on the outside..

Ok I'm more confused now. Just read a fruit is anything that grows from the ovum of a flower. I know what that is but surely that means more things are fruit than we thought

I always thought if it grows above the ground its a fruit...but then i got confused as runner beans grow above the ground and they are veg!

Strawberries are not technically fruit because the seeds are outside

I think runner beens and other seed pods are not fruit or veg either

If it goes well with cream or ice cream, its a fruit! Not sure if that's scientifically correct though...

Basically if it has seeds it is a fruit, and fruits come from flowering plants. Vegetables come from leafy plants and are the edible part of that plant. Like onions are the bulbs of an onion plant and carrots are roots. Peas and corn are actually fruits as they are the seed element of the plant and grow from a leafy stem.
