It’s hard when you’ve lost loved ones. But me and my dad sit drinking whiskey and eating all day, watch a couple of movies and swear at the tv. Then nap In Our Christmas pyjamas. So it’s not all bad. Christmas food is the best!

Read on another thread other European countries don't make as big a deal of Christmas as we do and it's about the day itself mainly and life is normal around it.

I think I'd like a happy medium here tbh, we spend 1/5 of the year talking about Christmas. It's awesome to get family together & see little ones buzzing and happy but a build up from December should be plenty. We don't need bombarded with perfume and toy adds from this point on or have Christmas music on the airwaves.

And no I'm not a scrooge, it's my favourite day of the year too I just feel things can lose true value if they are over played

I love Christmas. The last two years I've not been able to do all the normal big family stuff, so I've been able to really look at what I enjoy and what I just do because we always do it.

This year I'm just going to do the stuff that I love and that I've missed.

I can't wait!

Love getting the family together, and we have three new additions this year.

I'm looking forward to putting up my little tree and light up ornaments and candles.

Really looking forward to it and hoping we get to spend it with family this year. I get excited as soon as the shops start getting all the Xmas stuff in. Love watching all the Christmas films.

I’ve stocked up on my tubs of roses just in case there’s a shortage

Kx

My lights went back up last March and haven't come down since. I'm enjoying darker evenings because I get to switch them on and feel all cosy!

50 days to lose enough weight so I fit comfortably into a smart shirt for Xmas day as we can't wear our usual uniform for work.

Other than that. "Urgh" is how I feel about it.

Why, do you have a Father Christmas phobia?

Gosh, this creeped up quickly didn’t it. I am actually looking forward to the 3 days I get to enjoy it, but wow, it’s exhausting/expensive isn’t it?

Yeah bingo. It's my first without my dear old mum and she loved all thing Xmas. So some new things to get used to. Thing is it's not just one day, it's the month before and 2 weeks after....that and she caught the covid that killed her at Xmas lunch last year so... Gritting my teeth through this one.

I enjoy seeing the kids faces when they're opening presents and all the food we eat! I love the hustle and bustle of a busy day knowing how happy the kids are.

We celebrate Christmas on the 24th too so we open presents from others then as well

Wishing we could do what we want to do, which is fuck off to somewhere warm with a beach, hole up there, have a picnic on the beach for Christmas Day and dispense with most of it. But no, that's not going to happen. We will go through the motions, again. Honestly, I hate it
