We're lucky enough to live near a Heron Foods store. For those who've never encountered one think cheap-ish food and occasional bargains. But the best stock is always what no other shop will take as it won't sell.

The highlights over the years have included solero mojitos, apple crumble pizza and peanut butter with marmite.

Anyone else spotted food of such calibre for sale? Or indeed created some for themselves?

Apple crumble pizza did you say?

Hmmm….now that I come to think of it though, a bit of pineapple on top and it would be grand

Our daughter once created a Christmas dinner pizza (cranberry sauce instead of tomato, mushed sprouts, chopped turkey etc.) and it was awesome!

We have it every Christmas now.

I like it when they get the Costa chocolate brownies in. That’s always a good day.
