Sandwich Question

Somewhere In The Ether…

Yes, a bit random but:

How long do you take to prepare your favourite filling sandwich?

I was pondering this last night (I’m a very interesting sort see) and concluded that due to being a greedy sod, I always rush mine in order to get it in my mouth as quickly as possible.

Can you please describe in salacious detail what you put in your sandwich to?

Do you cut then into triangles or rectangles though??

I just love sandwiches, the less filling the better but you have to have at least two fillings. Cheese and pickle or ham and cucumber. Love ham salad but it's a faff to make

The reason I was pondering this is that I’ve observed some folk really take their time and lovingly insert multiple ingredients.

I’m just greedy and go for basics and raw speed

Grab two slices of bread, slap in ham, eat.

Getting the ham from the fridge is the longest part of the process.

Agreed, do you cut them again so you have 4 little triangles instead of two big ones. If I'm feeling posh I cut mine into 4

When my son was small he used to get upset if I cut his sandwich into squares because apparently he used to say that triangle sandwiches meant I loved him, square ones meant I didn't

Wirral.

I do love a sandwich, but I'm rather particular....

Firstly, the bread has to be granary or multiseeded. I like the texture. And dry. No butter/marg/mayo etc. Nobody wants a floppy, sloppy sandwich, do they?

Then I'll take a few slices on Torchon ham, thinly shaved cucumber & a sliced boiled egg and layer them lovingly on said bread.

Cut into triangles.

Slip into mouth, chew.

Done x

I can make a good sandwich. I’ve been known to post acre culinary recipes on here in the past.

Op, it can be an art. I can squeeze some Mayo between two slices and that will feed me, but I’d rather spend time making something that will satisfy my desire for good food than just my hunger.

Pastrami is one of my favourite filings, paired with honey roasted ham -accompanied with spicy rocket sweet chilli Mayo dressing, pickles (gherkins) and on slightly toasted think cut seeded bread. That’ll do me.
