Kinda following on from an earlier thread about what makes an older woman more attractive I just wanted to balance this out a little if we can.

As a guy in my late 40’s I know that guys around my age bring different qualities to a guy in his early 20’s.

Guys - what qualities have you got now that you didn’t have when you were younger?

Women - what qualities do older guys have that you can’t see or find in younger men?

when younger i wanted an older woman i married one at when you are 20 and your wife is even a couple of years older than you, its nice. It didn’t come across as aggressive at all as we all know there are exceptions to every rule.

I find some older males are much more respectful, especially towards younger women or couples.

They know not to form emotional attachments that younger guys probably think they could try their luck with.

Very much this as well as some of the other comments. Life experiences have taught me a lot now I’m very much who I am. People can either accept it or not. Life has gotten more about choices for me and acceptance of other peoples choices too

This is a good post.

I'm 62 but in my case I'd suggest it really is just a number, I'm fairly fit, I don't have a six pack and I'm a tiny bit cov- fat I call it.

I've learned as I've aged that I can talk to women with the greatest ease, I've even been know to ad lib a few lines from songs to women.

I'm not the most handsome guy and I do sometimes engage the mouth before the brain but not often.

I think maturity brings many advantages over youth.

One thing I must say is I have a real appreciation of mature ladies, there are some very attractive ones on here.

i’ve only ever been attracted to older guys although now i’m getting older i’ve noticed that reducing slightly but i still don’t like younger than me. older guys have more in common with me, they tend to be better in bed- less selfish. they tend to enjoy more than just sex. obviously not all older guys are this way but this is just the ones i’ve met.

A lot of older men seem to have more confidence, more straight to the point, more experience and from my own experience far more engaging on an intellectual level.

Also I find a lot of older men more sincere. Younger men rarely do it for me personally.

But as with everything else everyone is different and no two people are the same

Had a first date with a woman 12 years younger than me last Saturday. My ex wife was also around that age difference as well, so I was concerned about not dating in my age range.

However it didn’t take long to realise why she dated older guys. She’s very intelligent and fully aware of it as well, bad experiences with ex boyfriend and husband especially as he didn’t support her through a serious illness. Now prefers guys who know a bit about politics, music, film and life experiences. Very sympathetic to my heart attack as she’s been close to death herself.

I just find that a lot of men under about 35 have been quite inspired by Internet porn of a certain kind and _ase a lot of their sexual knowledge off that. I'm the wrong side of 65 (or so younger folks tell me) and having had a major life scare 7 years ago (double pulmonary embolism caused by a calf injury I didn't look after - being a typical indestructible male

) I made a full recovery after 14 days in critical care and definitely reevaluated my life and lifestyle.

Now people have to take me as I am, warts and all (not that I have any).

Life is to be enjoyed and explored as I have never met anyone who has got a second bite at it. More importantly, it is to be savoured with others.

So what can I offer apart from many 'years'? Well hugs, cuddles, romanticism in abundance, consideration, long lasting staying power, a capacity to impart enjoyment to others just as much as myself and a sexual appetite that although not as high as it was a number of years ago, benefits the other person just as much as me, if not more as these days I love to savour sexual play and take my time. Also no strings fun and enjoyment.

Apart from that, what have the Romans done for us? ??

By 40-45 usually finally secure, confident and laid back too and really know what you want (and don’t want) so don’t end up in silly relationships

I would only be echoing what the other ladies have said but for me, it’s their confidence, not only in who they are but their confidence when they’re with a woman.

The conversations are more diverse, and their sense of humour is refreshing.

I don't think older men are more attractive than younger men, just differently so. Similar to women in that regard really.

I've always been more attracted to older men, I'm not quite sure why. The aesthetic is something I appreciate, I like the smile lines, those little glimpses of a life well lived and enjoyed. The hair, that salt and pepper look that sends electricity straight to my clit. I find it easier to talk to older men on the whole, the ones I've met/spoken to tend to be intelligent, self assured, knowledgeable on a myriad of topics. They can also be quite straight forward. And the sex seems to be more relaxed, less about doing the whole karma sutra with an everlasting erection. I also have a soft spot for grumpy types, it feels like I've done something really good when I can make them laugh or open up.

All that being typed, I know of/some older men who are mind game central, rather stupid and completely lack the ability to converse on anything. The sex is perfunctory and they're rather set in stone.

In my teens I was permanently horny and would shag any female that breathed

In my twenties I was married, playing in a band, touring and shagging any female that breathed

In my thirties I was still doing what I did in my Twenties only a lot less as I was more interested in my surroundings and what was going on around me

In my Forties I had slowed down on the band stuff and touring, had joined Fab and was into something a bit different

In my Fifties I was a widower, a grandfather and someone more chilled in my own body. My interest in Fab and sex in particular waned

Now 60, I am richer yes but not necessary monetary richer.

I am more enlightened, I daily practice mindfulness, meditation, tai chi and various other therapies

I don’t go looking for women or trying to impress anyone as I don’t need to.
