Let's have your best cold remedies pls

Feel like I've had a cold developing for about 5 days but it's not turning into an actual cold (been taking tests every day and it's not covid). While I'm in this limbo stage, does anyone have any remedies for that stage where you think you might be getting a cold but you're not in the midst of it yet? Been getting lots of vitamins (from diet and supplements), sleep and hot fluids. Just really frustrating - I'd rather just be ill and get it over with!

This. Probably less of the food actually, as digestion uses a lot of energy that your body needs to fight whatever bacteria is causing the issue. Lots of rest and water, at least the daily recommended amount, but probably more.

And lots of Vitamin C in supplemental form.

Also something that I’ve learned from Ayurvedic medicine is to use a nasal douche of some form to clear your nostrils.

I had a cold coming on a few weeks and did the above, plus douching morning and night, and managed to keep it at bay.

Fluids to replace sweat. Citrus fruits, plus carrot juice, tomato, beet, ginger, kale. Blitz them in a blender.

Warm water 2 slices of lemon and a teaspoon of Manuka honey and a slice of fresh ginger.

Drink these regularly. I swear by them.

Also hot blackcurrant it’s just warming and comforting

Also something people rarely think about is change/disinfect your toothbrush. A lot of germs live on it and you can easily perpetuate a cold by continuing to use the same one.

Hydrogen peroxide is great for disinfecting your toothbrushes.

I tried it and it’s not too bad, although I think 99% of getting better comes from proper rest, hydration and nutrition

Not witch doctor teas

Taken me an embarrassingly long time to connect the dots but I did have my booster last weekend... Maybe it's a delayed reaction? I didn't get anything with the first two though.

Some guys will really turn anything into an opportunity to shoot their load never mind the fact I look like a gremlin in a sweater burrito right now

Hot Toddy. Hot milk, whiskey and honey. I leave out the honey as I don’t like it.

You don’t half get a sweat on, especially if heavy handed with the whiskey

Yeah not keen on honey as a main ingredient either tbh. I don't have any whiskey in... I have vodka and red wine, can I do something with that?
