People who dye their own hair...how do you avoid dying your own ears?

Asking for a friend

I've never got it on my ears before. Mostly my neck and the side of my face .

You can either put some Vaseline on them or just wipe them once you’ve finished putting the colour on

I use nail polish remover on a cotton pad. Seems to do the trick.

I don't think you can. Years ago hairdressers used to put cotton wool round your ears but nowadays they just seem to wash it off. When I dyed my hair at home I used to walk round with light brown ears for a few days

When I played rugby we had a chap who used to tape our ears and it offered protection to the opposing prop trying to tear them off!

I can pop round and tape up your mate?

I’m a devotee of the Vaseline method too! It can be a bugger to get it all off afterwards though.

I just wipe it off after I've finished putting the dye on and tied my hair up. Wet flannel usually does the job.

I apply a cream on my hairline and behind ears and on top of them. Practice! then it's easy to wipe off after. Presto. Done.

Definitely a good smearing of vaseline all over ears and hairline!
