Short and sweet.

The wet weather seems to have brought a new shoal.

Subscription paying members are paying for a service.

It wastes the time of genuine people and can in some cases cause distress, anxiety and upset.

When are more robust measures going to be put in place to prevent or at least reduce this practice?

IP bans for instance.

There's the option to block new profiles from messaging and you can report them.

This site is predominantly run my volunteers who do a great job of responding to reports of such profiles.

Surely photo verification and multiple verifications from other users is sufficient?

IP banning also wouldn't work... all they would have to do to get a new IP address, is turn off their router and back on again.

Only desperation keeps catfish alive.

Have some self respect, read between the lines and you’ll be just fine.

I think it is, along with common sense.

If people didn't feed the catfish they would die.

What service are subscription paying menbers paying for?

The site has a verification system, reporting system. Vids, pics, various other aspects for the subscription.

20p a day is quite a bargain.

Central

People who are determined to do something will include paying for site membership.

With thousands of people here the onus is on each of us to take responsibility for improving standards and taking personal responsibility for our behaviour and to increase site standards. This includes reporting any behaviour that is against site rules.

Behave yourself as if you are an amateur mod in training. We can't all be mods but can adopt some of their responsibilities to pick out what may be wrong and to report it. It does more than complaining in the forum, which reduces others' confidence and spirit.

Take your time with things and work at your own slow pace. Increase your steps taken to validate others, so that you give them fuller scrutiny. Filter out new users and stick with those who are verified by likely reliable users. Adopt meetings at clubs, for increased choice, if they fail to show for a social. The worse your results are, the stronger the measures that you will need to apply to yourself, so that you are more likely to get results similar to the rest of us.

People need to just have fun and take this site a lot less seriously. It's obvious to spot people that aren't genuine, forget and move on. It's pretty easy.
