Some of us don’t particularly enjoy the clubs/pubs environment & rather prefer quiet social events and company.

Last time I visited a nightclub it was awful, the music was shit, the drinks overpriced and shit. The pub was the same.

Obviously I'm not young but I'd say that swinging is very different to "normal" clubbing and dating etc. I think it's possible to do both

I just had a message that used the line "you seem a senile lot of fun".

I'm not getting any younger but that just felt unnecessarily harsh.

That is very harsh I think some men get off on all that unfortunately I got called mature by someone two years younger than me I don’t know how to be mature

I'm clearly not the demographic to answer the question, but I think also meeting people online has been normalised by the likes of tinder. It's a part of life now, where it wasn't for me when I was in my 20s.

The days of it being normal to wake up bleary eyed on a Sunday morning and try to see what you'd brought home when pissed the night before without waking him up are over I think, but they weren't exactly paradise anyway!

24yo here. I've probably been in about 10 different pubs/cocktail bars and zero nightclubs.

I like to be able to converse without shouting and I don't like the hustle/bustle headaches.

I'm pretty sure it auto corrected from "stunningly attractive". That's what I'm telling myself.

Trust me over the age of 25 clubbing is over rated. I much prefer quiet nights in the pub now with good company. Im 30 and I can’t party like I’m 18 anymore. Swinging is a completely different thing though as someone said very different indulgence and pass time haha. I drink to get d*unk I wouldn’t be d*unk if I was swinging I want to remember it.

Absolutely, it’s a lot easier these days to meet people online than before. With that though, it’s also become a bit of a burden as you’re competing with literally thousands at a push of a button.

Its incredibly tough for a young single guy to get into a swingers club, and the pricing is a difficult thing to get past. I couldn't have afforded it in my 20s.

A single woman in her 20s looking for age-appropriate guys is more likely to find them on site where they can restrict their age filters than they are in a club, no matter how queenly they're treated in there.

After a couple of drinks I forget I'm not 22 any more. Last few times I went out in Glasgow for "1 or 2 pints" I've ended up going mad with some 20-somethings I've met that day and it ends up in an all-nighter!

Me and wife were swingers at 24 + 19 respectively.

We also went to night clubs.

Rarely did both things cross paths.

When you were that age then meeting people online was not an option, meaning you had to go to pubs and clubs. The world is a very different place today and people have far more variety and choice as to how they meet one another.

I think when we were younger you went out looking to drink, dance and be merry. There was always the thrill of catching someone's eye and sparks flying. I recently worked in a bar and all the young people were glued to their phones. We didn't have that distraction back then.

NW & Mids

I Personally welcome and would encourage more younger blood to FAB and in swing clubs / lifestyle.

As we all know, Hindsight is a wonderful thing, for those of us older than OP's age bracket, I ask, if you knew about the swingers lifestyle / FAB earlier would you have joined sooner??? I deffo would have!

For the old farts who dis the younger ones saying they should go pubbing or clubbing, IMO the younger ones have just as much right to be here as you or I! Provided they are all over 18 of course.

So intentionally being provocative

Could it be that the group that go to clubs are slim and active and the ones on fab are not?

Because they're very different things and it doesn't mean they don't go out.

If you want to swap partners or ti arrange a threesome, somewhere like Fab is a better bet than your local nightclub.

I'm 48 and still enjoy going to a pub or club for a dance and a few drinks. I don't see why it's an age thing.
