Slightly scary experience ( not fab related)

hiding from cock pics.

Today I heard my front door opening when I wasn't expecting a member family home. I shouted "hello, hello who is that?" thinking maybe one of my kids had come home early, but there was no answer and I heard the door closing.

I ran down to the door to see what was going on.

It was an Amazon driver delivering a legitimate parcel, but instead of knocking on the door, or ringing the bell he actually just opened my front door.

I said to him "did you just open my front door, and he said "yes sorry about that", and gave me my parcel.

It really shook me up and from now on I will be keeping my door locked from the inside at all times.

I've reported it to Amazon, I just thought I would share it here as as I should have had it locked at all times anyway, really.

I'm just glad that I heard it, I wonder what would have happened if I was in the shower or having a nap.

Hopefully it was an accident but I don't really see how anybody could turn a handle the whole way round by accident.

That's scary and very weird. Was a proper Amazon driver or a sub contractor? I would report it to the police as well.

It was one of the Amazon drivers who use their own vehicle and can work as and when they choose to take shifts.

I have reported it to Amazon.

I will consider reporting it to the police. I'm likely to have video footage as well although I haven't been able to check that yet.

I know exactly how you feel I have had amazon drivers many many times try to open my door and once when I forgot to lock the door a driver did actually come into my house I was sitting next to the door at the time. Just last week a driver broke the gate to the back of my house because it was locked and he couldn't get in

It feels like a violation when someone comes in uninvited.

Yes. The walls and doors of your home delineate a boundary that shouldn't be crossed unless by invitation (emergency excepted).

You can’t open my front door without the key in the lock. It’s not stopped the odd delivery driver from trying though. You can push the handle down but nothing happens it’s pretty loud.

They have a bell and a camera to ring and if I’m not in they can use the boot store. I don’t understand the need to do it.

We had a scary but actually Fab related experience. A few weeks ago, someone knocked on our door, saying that the they'd been told they could find "fun" at our place. We've never given our home address to anyone on Fab and we have a miniscule circle of friends, mainly who live away from our area. Really freaked us out

There is no need. It's hugely overstepping boundaries.

Some people have a porch with a door but I still wouldn't expect anyone to open it unless it was made clear on the delivery instructions

Indeed. We said something a little stronger. He wasn't initially keen on leaving our driveway either.....

Alicante, Spain. (Sometimes in Wales)

When I lived in the UK, the front door was always locked, unless I was in the front garden.

The back door was always locked unless I was in the back garden.

Now I live in Spain, the patio door is always open, but the garden gates are always locked.

Easy habits to develop and will save tons of heartache if the wrong person visits.

Currently Faraway

Our flat door in England didn’t even make a sound if it was unlocked and you opened it. Just a slight turning of the handle and you were in. Couple that with the fact that our lounge was kind-of sound-insulated if its door was closed and you could easily have a knife-wielding person silently walk upstairs as we watched telly…lol too many films watched.

I had this a couple of years ago I was upstairs and heard the door go. When I went down there was a package on my side. However it’s even more concerning now with covid etc

Maybe a little extreme,"the bastard delivered my package I ordered"

My dogs go mental when they hear anyone walking up my path.

My packages are left on my doorstep or handed to me.

My doors are never left unlocked anyway.
