Yknow tea bags were Invented during World War 2? Before that it was just loose tea. Milk was then widely used because it tasted like shit

It’s down to the fact that china cups were pretty brittle and could not withstand the quick temperature change when boiling water was poured into the cup

You need water hot enough to brew the bag, milk reduces the temperature too much.
