At the end of the day its personal preference, me I like smooth to allow the tongue to reach the parts hair does not allow!! I believe (but I am sure someone will quote me wrong) pubes were natures way of keeping the reproductive parts warm and protected! that's ok if your an Eskimo but with today's central heating!

No, the hair is there as a protection for delicate parts. Shaving and waxing can lead to abrasions and an increase in STIs, particularly herpes, as there is no protection for the delicate skin and more chance there is a cut, however small. Not to mention the itchy and scratchy.
