Are you the person who rummages to get later dates on maybe your chilled items from the supermarket. You are aren't you. Admit it . Happy weekends one and all

I definitely do this. I've been watched doing it too but I don't care lol. I don't want something that's up in a couple of days time when I know I can get a longer date on items at the back x

Have never heard of this ! I generally ignore use by dates, most things can be kept longer than they are labelled.

I like a bargain and so always take a peek to see if anything worthwhile is available, especially if it can be frozen for another day. Practical sense I think.

This is true, especially if they are still sealed.

As we did in the olden days, the sniff test generally works

Too many people think that 'best before' = 'use by'.

To answer the OP, I generally don't visit supermarkets

"Yup. Take from the back. "

Taken from the back is a good mantra to live your Fab life by... in my opinion

I certainly do it for bread and milk and other items that go off within a week.

I do this, and I felt like such a prick doing it in Tesco the other day. In my defence however, the use-by dates were SO short, and not for items you’d usually expect. I can’t eat a whole packet of ham in two days!

I always look for the longest date as they will be fresher for longer. A also will search out the biggest chicken when the price is per chicken and not per kg. I assumed most people did this?

Is it something you shouldn't do though? Why do some feel it is? I don't understand.
