Somewhere In The Ether…

Outside taps are great! Straight from the mains so it’s both drinkable and under pressure (efficacious for use with a hose pipe)

I have one to which I've fitted a light sensor operated feed supply that goes to a set of drip feeders in the greenhouse. Cost about £50 and works like a dream

If you're having one fitted Busman make sure the plumber puts an isolation valve on the inside wall. In winter close the tap off to avoid freezing water affecting rest of pipes.

Washington

you really need an inside stop tap valve to switch off the water then leave outside tap open to allow any water to get out and any ice to freeze and expand along the pipe so not to split the pipe

I have one, but cold water only, so it was a bit useless for the kids’ paddling pool in the summer.
