Ironing

Does anyone still do the ironing?

Do we need a support group for those who have quit?

I'll start - Hi, I'm Dee and I gave up ironing 8 years ago

I'm worried as we have a wedding in 2 weeks and I'll need to get out the old iron. Will I be able to give it up again after?

Seriously though, am I an oddity or is ironing a thing of the past? (I take no offence if you call me odd )

There’s a tipping point ... not long enough in the drier and the bloody things are wet , too long in the drier and they are unironable.

I iron whilst watching TV at this time of the year.

In summer I get the extension lead out, take it all out in the garden, oil up and pour some Margaritas.

If you really haven't used it for a while, give it a blast on a towel or something first. Mine stained my shirt really bad after I hadn't used it for ages.

I very rarely iron anything - occasionally iron shirts for my husband but I buy clothes that don't need ironing.

I once donated a gorgeous dress to charity because it needed ironing and was a pain to iron properly

Thanks for the heads up.

As it happens the weddings in Scotland so we'll be using my father in law's iron. I'm sure he uses it fairly often so I won't worry about it malfunctioning and staining anything
