Going to Manchester for the first time next week for a day drinking session (Thursday).

Can any1 recommend any good gay bars to go to? Be great if there's a gay rock bar. Thanks

No gay rock bars

TBH most of the bars around Canal Street are quiet during the day Mon - Thu

It is a very LGBT friendly city on the whole though

Bars round the Northern Quarter are very mixed in terms of the patrons too, so may be worth heading to Thomas St, Oldham St, Stevenson Square area too

Canal street is the most commonly known gay area, it’s just a part of the gay village though.

In the daytime on a Thursday it won’t be particularly busy but in the evening it should get busier

Company Bar has all the leather guys.

There’s G.A.Y with its modern vibe.

New York has Drag Queens and a good mix of gay guys and straights.

I’m due to go out in Male mode in December for our Christmas night out. As I work with a lot of Gay people, so my advice get down to Canal Street (or better known as Anal Treet by the locals

)
