I'm not much of a football fan, but I thought it was beautifully melancholic yet also uplifting at the end of Carousel - I've had a soft spot for it ever since.

I have heard it at the majority of funerals I've been to because of the Liverpool association though.

Farfarfar away

There’s a 90’s club song that I’ve been trying to find, and if anyone can help me out that be great. All I can remember of it is that it had the line … ‘Is this all there is for me’ or something really similar. The other is Missing You, by Everything but the Girl and yes I have thought about it a lot!

As the curtains close……. Rule Britannia and crack open the fizz please

On a more serious note, give it some thought. I had to chose music for my Dads recent passing and a later memorial service. As with all families it caused a bit of tension among siblings who wanted different things…. We had to agree to disagree and we each chose one. Write your funeral wishes down somewhere or no one will know what your wishes would be

The norm is to have three songs, at my cremation I'd like

Celebration by Madonna as everyone enters

You can light my fire by the Doors as the casket disappears behind the curtain

And let's get the party started by pink as everyone leaves the crematorium
