I know in the day it was to help the farmers . These days the amount of light that can be generated is sufficient . Let's stay the same not changing it

We tried that not so long ago ( in decades ) it was too dangerous for school kids I think the argument went......

I remember that. The school issued us with orange reflective armbands so that we could be seen when walking to school in the morning.

It was actually to help train the army back in about 1907/8/9 (somewhere around then)

Lets leave them forward, i hate dark evenings.
