I realised their utility as I bent a lady over mine. Dining tables are a little low for the taller male

Take those heels off and climb on up. Just don't fall into the sink

When I grew up we had a large dining table in the kitchen and I loved it. I guess for me an island is similar because it gives you so much space to prep or do other things as well as provide seating.

The advantage of an island over a table is that you use it standing up and you can integrate appliances. I think it gives kitchen zoning more flexibility.

Under the Duvet

If you've got a big kitchen then cool, but I think they will look dated pretty soon.

I'd love a kitchen full of 1950s freestanding units.

Blue or yellow

No room in our kitchen for one lol. I'd love one though.
