Off to my first Diabetes clinic in the morning hopefully they will be happy with my progress, I know I am. Its been a few weeks since my diagnosis managed to cut out the sugar, reduce the carb intake and stop smoking. Just need my appointment for the surgeon to sort my leg now.

Good luck op and the one piece of advice I’d give as a 25+ year diabetic is listen to and act on what the specialist tell you because I didn’t and I’m paying the price and have done for the past 13 years.

My latest joy to look forward to is having my eyeball injected next week to attempt to get the sight back in my right eye.

Totally avoidable and totally my fault.

I I didn’t listen and act on the advice given but to be fair my levels are great thanks to a new extra weekly injection now!!!

Well done OP. Keep on it with your diet

I gave up carbs 15 mths ago. I feel absolutely amazing by comparison to how I was and I didnt have diabetes. I just did it for arthritis and that has gone,,,as well as lots of weight.

Keep it up it works. People can reverse T2 diabetes through very low carb diets.

I take 1G of the modified release tabs at night. It’s much less harsh on your stomach than the normal fast acting ones. I was always Ill on them.

I was diagnosed with type 3 a few years ago. Poor lifestyle. I ignored advice, failed to take tablets (metformi and glicizide). My sugar levels spiralling.

After catching covid and having a rough time Healy wise last year, and losing 2.5 stones due to covid. I’ve changed my lifestyle 360.

A low carb diet, and daily exercise with intermittent fasting has given me a new lease of life/. I’ve also managed to remain medication feee as my glusicee level are in control. I’m hoping to be officially undiagnosed as a diabetic. I know it can be done.

I got diagnosed about 3 years ago. I was 17 .5 stone. Within a year I'd lost 5 stone and put diebetes into remission.

I cut out carbs and alcohol and took up running .

I now regularly run half marathons and watch what I eat and drink and am on no medication

My doc always harps on about diabetes, regardless of what I went in for.

Lump in the boob, you're over weight, let's test your sugars.

I swear he's disappointed when they're fine.

Morning OP - I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 10yrs ago, it’s a long and hard process but once you get to grips with management it really helps. I also used to be a smoker but gave up 6yrs ago, went cold turkey but there are many options out there, good luck with your appointment and journey it’s not easy but you will get there xx

"My doc always harps on about diabetes, regardless of what I went in for.

Sounds like your doctor was heading in the right direction but for all the wrong reasons.

A person being overweight is not proof of illness but it is a key indicator.

Is it just a coincidence that, since the increase in smoking, the increased prevelance of seed oils and massive increase in processed food consumption, there has been an exponential increase in diabetes, heart disease, thyroid issues and countless other chronic modern illnesses?

Your doctors, following American guidelines, keep churning out medication and telling you you can't change things.

Type 2 is easily reversed without medication. In a matter of weeks patients reduce and finally come off all medication. Type 1 is controlled and some of the adult onset sufferers go into remission.

How? Well you know already. Its cutting out carbs-the only food group that isn't essential.

Of course doing this is hard. Carbs are literally addictive. Brain scans show similar stimulation between sugary treats and heroin!

But metabolic disease does not respond to anything else. It can be handled at great expense, but cured for free.

Start easy. Cut out ALL PROCESSED FOOD. If you can't see the actual food you are eating dont put it in your mouth.

Add more greens and take out the white stuff...except Cauliflower. Never eat sugar again. Or grains of any kind.

Or at least until you have this beaten. Its only a few months. After a few weeks you don't miss it, I promise you.

Once you have your carb addiction in check you will be able to choose when you eat and what. It is the ultimate freedom. Can you imagine not eating for a day because you don't want to ? Can you imagine how little money I spend on crap food? Is there any reason the food industry don't want you to know that one or two fresh fatty meals are all you need for optimal health ?

Anyway, this sounds mental to most people so please go to YT and look up Dr Ken Berry. He is in the middle of an experiment reversing other people's diabetes.

If you have a more scientific bent, subscribe to Low Carb Down Under on YT and be amazed.

I have spent 14 mths researching this. Its the first Conspiracy Theory I have ever given any credence to.

Feel free to message me and throw what ever abuse comes to mind. Or...ask me a question. I will point you towards the evidence.

Good luck in your fight against metabolic disease.

Ask your specialist about going on a pump as I find them fantastic for delivery of insulin.

Best of luck.

I love it and I had no problem with injecting.

You inject the insulin into the pump and then stick it on you (personally my arm)and once set off it puts small amounts in you(Balas rate) and using your pod you put larger amounts in before eating.

I was nervous before changing over as I’m a dumb twat but I love it and it took no time at all to be comfortable with it.

I had those drops for my cataracat exam, you'll be fine the next day.
