New movies this year

trouble most likely, or creating it :)

I'm a huge movie fan.. love going to the movies to see films. However this year ive found that most of the movies I've been really looking forward too have been a let down.

I think perhaps it's been the changing of release dates... as a film I wasnt aware of till I saw the trailers during black widow was excellent.

Bond however was not a disappointment, yet venom 2 I felt was kinda like a filler between the marvel movies. It was good but well.. just after being so excited to see it... felt not as good as I'd anticipated x

Seeing the last duel and Dune in the next week. X so we shall see

Lincoln

We've just seen Venom 2 and enjoyed it but we both thought it was surprisingly short. I'm looking forward to Dune too, though I'm pretty sure I'm seeing that one alone The King's Man looks excellent too.

It may have something to do with Netflix & Prime releasing lots of films & projects being turned into series rather than one off or trilogy films..

Dune does look good, have you ever seen the original from the 80’s?

Going with my youngest daughter to see The Last Duel later today because it stars Jodie Comer. Now I'm not a particular fan of Jodie but my daughter is obsessed by her, and I do mean she's OBSESSED.

She's 22 and lives with her boyfriend. My daughter, not Jodie Comer.

Jodie comer was in a BBC series years ago about a woman being abducted as a teenager, a long time before she was famous. It was still on BBC I player a while back, if your daughter hasn't seen it then I'm sure she can Google it, seriously blew me away and I have been a huge comer fan since.

Manchester (he/him)

I think that this is a lesson in anticipation and expectations. We’ve all waited so long for these films and the excitement has far outweighed the product in most part.

I don’t think that the films have changed in terms of quality, it’s just been that the wait has built our expectations.

It’s a bit like building up a meet too much, often it can feel disappointing because it doesn’t match the picture we’ve built up in our minds

In terms of films, I’m really looking forward to Dune, The Eternals and Spider-Man.

I watched Free Guy and genuinely laughed a lot, I think that I enjoyed it more than the kids!

Ghostbusters will be interesting, just from how the trailer looks

I loved James Bond and tonight we're off to watch Venom 2. Shang Chi was good, loved Free Guy and Hitmans Body Gaurds Wife.

I am looking forward to the Eternals and the new Hawkeye movie. And the Netflix release starring Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot

I'm looking forward to watching Last Night in Soho, Spiderman, Antlers and The Kingsmen.

There are a few interesting films coming to Netflix that I'm looking forward to watching as well.

yeah this is how I think too. Had I not waited over a year longer for some things... then maybe I'd not feel the deflated feeling some movies have made me feel .. even though they were actually pretty good

Thank you. I've found it and it's called 'Thirteen', still on BBC iplayer. I'll mention it to my daughter later today and if she hasn't seen it already I know she'll be very grateful to you
