Oasis not my favourite band but in a bar or club I can't not sing along with them.

Embrace were quite anthemic too.

Ac/dc obviously. Who can hear thunderstruck and not shread air guitar.

For me my biggest one would be the cure. They were the defining band of my youth and I still can't stop singing along (I realise they are different types of anthems but still )

My dad is a huge Queen fan. I bought him the greatest hits video in 1991 and it was constantly on. My nephew was born that year and was sat in the baby bouncer watching it over and over like something from a Clockwork orange. He still knows all the songs by heart lol

For bands that turn out Anthems, I don't think anyone else has come close.

I've never been a huge Queen fan (probably for reasons listed above lol) but you cannot deny the are a phenomenon. Freddie Mercury is an Icon.

by the big field

I'll chuck in some curve balls with Sisters of Mercy & The Mission- This Corrosion and Tower of Strength are utterly superb in the car at much too high volume.

Also, The Wonderstuff/Miles Hunt could give a masterclass in knocking out some absolute belting tunes for over 30 years, so many of them that some never made it past 'album filler', despite being head and shoulders above a lot of the chart dross
