For us it’s spooky season. Time of year where we watch tonnes of spookyfilms and horror films.

What are people’s favourites on here then?

Who likes the classics? Who prefers modern? Who prefers something a bit more comedic?

Love the classics. The Thing & Alien are top of my all time favourites list. Also love Jaws, the Wicker Man and more recently the Witch and Midsommar.

On a mooch

I’m not a fan of modern horrors as to in your face. I like the old hammer horrors with Chushing & Lee that leaves something to the imagination. A few others, the Omen trilogy,

Poltergeist, Aliens, the Shining, The Wicker Man, 13 Ghosts, Event Horizon, the Autopsy of Jane Doe, Saw & Final Destination, but the first ones only.

Going back some now I seem to recall Switchblade Romance being quite graphic.

For blood & gore it would have to be something like Tokyo Gore Police.

Mentally something like Funny Games might fuck with your head a little.

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

I like horror films that have suspense and keep you on edge over ones that focus more on gore and shock value.

The ring films were good. Exorcist III is an underrated and overlooked gem

I really love The Witch! I adore folk horror, lots of sub genres from the black comedy, the supernatural... I watched The Children recently and I'd forgotten what a gem that is.

But I want to give a shout out to Jennifer's Body. It's not the film the advertising would suggest it is at all, whoever was in charge of the marketing did a shite job. Give it a go, you might be surprised.

I love the original Omen. Pure class. No sex or swearing, and everyone looks rather dapper.

Plus, it’s fucking scary.

The Thing

The beast must die

Any Hammer Film but out of them Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter is a classic.

Wolfen

Alien

My all time favourite more a thriller but Jaws really scared me as a child.

Obviously The Exorcist, Omen, The Devil Rides Out, Body Snatchers, Don’t look Now etc..
