Feeling deflated,been messaging a couple for about a week,become friends,they were very cautious as had couple of bad experiences they said,so not pushy in any way,it was husband that was messaging,said a social with him first would be good,arranged Wednesday midday,he said give me his address Wednesday morning,I took the day off work,got some flowers,bottle of wine,chocolates,sat there like a lemon all morning & no answer,preferred if just said no thank you,hence feel deflated

This sounds the most likely and he either chickened out, had a wank or his wife decided she wasn't going out after all and she knew nothing about it.
