I do it because I rarely eat butter so when I do, I want it to be nice.

Simple enough to do and always goes does a treat

King's Crustacean

As Josie Long says........

Unsalted butter is like sex without an orgasm.

It's easy enough to make, but why bother? Good butter isn't expensive and like Mayonnaise its easier just to doctor good store bought butter to make it a bit special. The only time I've ever done it in quantity was when a farmer mate's cows escaped into a garlic field, and spoiled their milk. We turned all the garlic flavoured cream into butter and sold it at a premium lol.

On camp - yes

We use either a wooden plunger type churn or sometimes just an earthenware jug.

We really like it, making it doesn't have to be a major faff.
