No not what you might have been thinking ! Christmas!!

Who’s excited ?

Who can’t be bothered?

What traditions do people have ?

Christmas parties you are attending or not ?

Interesting to hear your opinions on whether this Christmas will be back to normal?

I adore Christmas, love the build up, the excitement of my little nephews, the buzz around town, the lights, frosty mornings, cozy fires, big jumpers, quality street tins, big family gatherings and putting my tree up! Not to mention my birthday is the week before xx

"Bah humbug!! I hate Christmas. "

Wouldn’t say I hate it, but I don’t get giddy about it. Good chance for a rest and a couple of nice bottles of wine, but that’s about it. I don’t get carried away with “having” to visit every relation known to man, thereby turning a restful period into a busy ordeal. And I don’t spend a bloody fortune on presents. Some people seem to completely lose the run of themselves at Xmas and spend a load of money that they simply can’t afford to spend.

It used to be the most magical time ever when the kids were young and still got toys and would spend all day with them on the floor playing with and assembling toys ect. Now they bit older it’s over in 15 minutes presents take less time to open as they smaller gadget shit then they disappear off upstairs again only to emerge for food just like every other day so don’t look forward to it much now.

Seems a bit early, but then time generally seems a little strange a the moment.

Always go to a hotel for the Christmas period, but that was booked up back in March.

Like most guys, I'll do my shopping on Christmas Eve.

I find it all starts too early and it can get boring. I won't think about it until December but it still holds special memories as I got together with my wife at a work christmas do. She worked for me and started with a close slow dance dance . We married on christmas eve too. That dance was 35 years ago and i was married lol

It doesn’t need to be as stressful as it is. Much of the pressure is out in people by themselves, feeling they have to deliver some incredible, amazing, ideal Christmas.

It’s nice to make an effort, but in many cases it has gone way beyond that.

Excited because it is also my birthday around the festive period!

I'm scandinavian so Christmas is celebrated on the 24th, but as we have English family we also celebrate on the 25th, as we have children we also leave some celebrations to the 26th so they aren't overwhelmed. It's a busy time!

Trust me, I don’t put the pressure on myself, but my mother does. She compares presents, constantly talks about how much such and such is, she can get very nasty about it all. I hate the materialistic side of Christmas, the expectations, the fact Christmas starts in September. If it wasn’t for work I’d disappear for a week in a remote cottage away from it all.

I use to love Christmas but now am just a bit meh about it. I am bored of it all by the time we get to actual Christmas as it all starts way too early these days so by the time it gets to the actual day I just want it over.

We don't go mad with presents which is good and if I get the day off work which usually is pretty unlikely I see some family then come home early enough light the fire and relax with the dogs.

Nice effort from your mother! I’d give that experience a wide berth. Make sure you enjoy Xmas on your terms, find what works for you and do it! Life is too bloody short to be sacrificing your preferences and time off to fit in with someone else’s plans and ideas.
