Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Or, rather, after life.

When you are dust what will your family and friends discover that might:

1. Surprise them?

2. Make them proud to have known you?

3. Hurt them?

"1. Surprise them?"

I don't really drink. Judging by the constant presents of alcohol they'll probably be surprised to see the pantry's many, many gifted bottles.

"2. Make them proud to have known you?"

I'm not sure of anything particularly that will be a surprise. I'd like to think that they'd be proud of me because of who I am.

"3. Hurt them?"

Again, I can't think of anything. The things I've done to hurt people are pretty much out in the open with them. I have an awful habit of blurting out how I'm feeling or what I've done, can't really keep things inside.

"1. Surprise them? "

I don’t think so, as long as they don’t manage to unlock my phone.

" 2. Make them proud to have known you? "

Hopefully, if they speak to people who know me.

" 3. Hurt them?"

See the bit about discovering my phone.

Wonder if I can book the chap who did my therapy to give my eulogy? It’s only a few minutes so he should be able to do it for a tenner

If they have any reason to be proud I hope they won't leave it until then-my ego needs feeding while I've got a pulse!

Would hate to think anything would hurt them. Perhaps that I didn't share as I might have done?

Surprise them ? How miserable my teenage years and school experience was, and how much it marked me.

So I should cancel the Jeroboam I have planned as a thank you?

Put it in your will, with the payment to the therapist.

I'm sorry about your overdose, we can't control all the hurt people will feel. I am sure there will be people with kind words about you.

The surprise and the hurt seem linked, to me. There is still time to share.

Thank you OP and yes they link.

There is time to share, but no. It would hurt people who'd feel responsible when it wasn't their fault. I've shared with my son which has helped me though.

1. Surprise them?

Things about my early career will surprise them. I are aware of some but not all.

2. Make them proud to have known you?

I would like to think they are already proud of me.

3. Hurt them?

Hopefully nothing, at least nothing I can think of right now.

I'm glad you have found it helpful to share with at least one person so close to you.
