I'm all for moving with the times. But not bond. The film is about James bond. It wouldn't be a James bond film if they changed it. Maybe a spin off. Another DOUBLE O agent. But leave bond as it is.

I don’t agree with redefining an established character just for the sake of it or to appear inclusive.

True inclusivity would the development of other characters with different backgrounds, ethnicity, sexuality, gender identities. Trying to force those things into an existing character is just a clumsy idea, lazy thinking.

Create a new ethos, a new modern age character.

Why do people feel they need to try and destroy history, remake it on their own image "history is history, past, gone" should be changing the future and not re write the past.

Completely agree. Trying to shoehorn old characters like this into current culture is just clumsy and lazy, trying to stay relevant while still milking an established franchise.

Like you say, leave bond as is, if that means he doesn’t fit and is a dinosaur, retire him, develop other characters.

Bond is clearly defined in the books and should be left that way. Same with poirot, Marple, etc

Nope, the character is great as he is. If it's not broke, don't fix it. I'm all for diversity in cinema but I don't agree with changing a character for it - I'd rather see a new franchise develop and have it's own story.

There's so many talented actors and script writers alike out there who could nail it too!
