Unexpected delights...

.

So I was going to do a thread about female competition inspired by a conversation with a beautiful soul... buuut I found out that I managed to get a suite in a top 5* London hotel with a 99% discount and that's far more lighthearted for a lazy Sunday afternoon.

So what things have brought you unexpected joy recently? Big or small, doesn't have to be particularly deep I'm just wanting to Tigger about in happiness.

Oh, that's fantastic Meli! I love a bargain soooo much. I shall Tigger for you.

And in answer to your question, everything I buy is a bargain, 'cos I refuse to pay full price for anything! X

Yay to the Tiggering! Tell me (so bossy!) something that's brought a smile to your lovely freckled face recently. Bargains are the best aren't they?

Isn't it! A website was offering a very reduced stay if you managed to book at midday today and I managed to get it, no idea how. It's a top suite, not even a junior suite. For less than fish and chips. Bargain.

Driving through Dorset last week I happened to pass the village of Tolpuddle, the home of the Tolpuddle Martyrs whose case helped establish workers rights in England. There is a fantastic small museum there with a shop and cafe too. A history lesson, gift buying and tea break in one.

Perhaps you should start a bargain-hunters thread OP?

I was lacking in Tigger vim and vigour until I walked in the beautiful sunshine and took some photos of the autumn leaves just now.

It's adorable isn't it? Things don't have to be big to be positive, it's nice to appreciate and enjoy the little things. I hope your son's independence keeps growing.

Big excitement for the Lego Halloween special round here!

I watched my husband reading my son one of his favourite books yesterday, snuggled on the sofa. It made my heart happy.

I arranged a surprise play session for C on Friday and then we went to London and visited Le Boudoir last night.

It’s been a different kind of weekend, full on but lovely to be away together and tick off a few more things off our vanilla and not so vanilla life

Melster! I like that. No exciting reason really, I've got a spa voucher to use at a fancy shchmany place so might book that at the same time. I couldn't resist paying 1% for a suite so that's reason enough.

It's fantastic the travel restrictions have eased, you'll be able to spend proper time with the old uncle at a wedding dancer now.

The new paint for porch and outside steps works a treat! Past paint always does not 'take' and peels after a few days. Good prep and choice of paint makes me a happy boy (I am easily pleased).

That's a definite positive, it's not easy to do but once someone has shown you who they truly are, it's far easier. I'm glad he did and hope you can continue on happier.

And thank you, I'm so excited!

Enjoy the hotel, Meli. Can you ask reception for an extra 40 keycards so we can all come and go?

I found a book I’d forgotten all about. I love my Kindle for its ability to carry hundreds of books and be lightweight, but turning the aged, discoloured pages of a favourite old book is a tactile delight. Even the fact you have to treat it gently so the cotton binding doesn’t get overstrained is a pleasure

The turkey roast I put in the oven earlier smells like pure joy, H just got home from work and the smile that appeared when she got a nose full of it was worth all the joy in the world

Also… Leicester beating Saracens yesterday was not a total surprise but fucking joy.. such joy
