I'm all undecided.

Should I go away? Have a party?

If I go away then suggestions where would be good - less than two hours flight time though.

All suggestions to be submitted written on a postcard or on boy totty please

The problem with the party idea is that I will end up having to organise it.

And I've already organised every other party and family function for the past 15 years so it's either hope someone else will do it (they won't) or slog for my own birthday.

One friend has already asked what kind of cake I'm having since I make the best cakes ever!

A weekend in Ireland, one of the most fantastic weekend breaks you could have.

That's why I went away for my 50th, mind you I had to organise that as well.

Whatever you do have a great time

I regularly travel to Ireland for work so I'm not convinced. Also my birthday is the end of October - the weather won't be great

Anyone been to Slovenia or Croatia? Know any good spas?

But work and play are two different things. Get a group of people together, a few shandies, some good music and it's a wonderful place to be.

The problem is that if (as is likely) I'm responsible for planning and baking I'll be knackered before it starts.and then as the planner I'll end up with all the clear up too!

No thanks. I do it for every bugger else but I refuse.to be knackered, frazzled and harried on my birthday!

For me, I never work on my birthday, and have always taken the day off since I started to work full time in 1987.

I usually spend the day on my own, shopping, going to see a film, have a nice meal and a few drinks etc...

If it is a significant birthday, I may go for a city break somewhere, with at least one very nice meal on my birthday.

For my next birthday next February, I have already booked a cheap Travelodge room in a city centre, so that I can have a few drinks at a nice watering hole without having to worry about driving home. I am sure I'll go for a nice sushi meal beforehand too.

Fro a weekend Barcelona is always nice and so is Budapest, it all depends if you like looking round places or spending time longeing by the pool in 30degs.

On your own or with someone special?

If I were to go for a foreign city break on my own, I would choose Florence.

Hopefully with a very good friend. I'll know tomorrow

If that doesn't pan out I have three options left

1) get someone else to arrange s party for me.

2) take bessie mate to a spa in the UK.

3) bugger off by myself to somewhere I know I'll have fun.

Unfortunately option 1 means mixing family and a wide variety of friends who have never really met for a host of reasons - that my family think I'm a slightly dull good girl being one of them!

Option 2, my mate is going through a tough time and will be gutted if I pay but she can't afford to right now.

Option 3, I have a bonus coming and I'll have to wait till early October to see if it's enough to take me to New Orleans for some serious partying...

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

It's a pain organising your own birthday. I'd go for trying something new and getting an experience under the belt. What have you always wanted to try/do? Set aside the time and do it.

The celebration part you issue an ultimatum that you will not organise another birthday/anniversary or make any further cakes until you get one back. Hopefully, each group of friends will then organise separate parties and you can just spend a few days being spoilt at parties in your honour.

Holiday anywhere hot, parties can be stressful when your the host, most med places are still pretty hot, but I'd try an get closer to the hot all year round places, its worth the extra flight time .

Go online an see what's available

Bristol

Ibiza out of season will be cheap and there's so much more to the island than the pissed up clubbers. Go to the north of the island though away from any stragglers.

Jersey is beautiful and a fun place this time of year. Ideal location for a week end away and you can drop on some cheap flights if you shop about. Even better first class if money is no object.

Looks like this could be resolved:

The weekend before my birthday in a Fango spa and Terme just outside Venice.

My actual birthday dinner with family.

the weekend after my birthday Korean hot pot with friends in Sheffield.

Woo hoo!
