Trek.

A number of reasons that have to do with a time in my life where I had no support.

Also there is more of it for viewing.

Star Trek was an educational experience for me growing up. Role models, ethics, equality and the idea of a utopian society (though obviously the federation is not a utopian society).

For so long Star Wars was 3 movies, 1 Christmas special and 2 spin off ewok kids movies. The movies were something to watch for exciting entertainment.

Oh there is so much more I could put in here...

Erm Star Wars... there isn't even a debate. Next question please.

The original Star Trek was great as a kid but never watched any of the newer stuff.

Oh and "A New Hope" was released the week after I was born in '77.

Nope but thanks for the offers.

FWIW I watched a few episodes of the second lot (Discovery?). Perfectly passable but nowhere near as iconic as the original Star Wars trilogy and I won't be swayed. *Puts fingers in ears and closes eyes*

I haven't got time to catch up on probably a couple of thousand episodes.

Anyway, they're totally different.... Star Wars is a film franchise and Star Trek is all about the series. IIRC the original Star Trek films weren't the greatest.

How about Star Wars for film/Star Trek for TV. Everyone's a winner then eh?

Ok... so this is tough (arent they all) but I'm gonna say star wars... contentious!

Back in the day, I avidly watched star trek with shatner, spock etc because it was on, and because of that being so awful I never got into the later series or the impossibly awful films...

At the same time, I was well into the star wars films, action toys, and spin offs (droids, ewoks etc) on kids tv like all the other 70s babies/ early 80s kids

Since then, trek has kinda disappeared and wars has immeasurably expanded, and I have really got back into it in recent years...

So wars

Star trek is all about daily life. In the future yes but it's mostly just dealing with the lives of the people on board the ship or the space station. That's why it's great.

And it's why I watched every show multiple times.

But it's also why I loved starwars more. It was a bigger dream.

"Wars because it was the story that mesmerised me as a child. Magic, honour, good vrs evil. Fighting for your soul.

I loved star trek too but it was more grounded in "reality"

I'm a tad concerned about your grasp on "reality".....

And also.....

Patrick Stewart ffs!

Trek!

Star trek is all about daily life. In the future yes but it's mostly just dealing with the lives of the people on board the ship or the space station. That's why it's great.

And it's why I watched every show multiple times.

But it's also why I loved starwars more. It was a bigger dream.

"

I cannot fault your logic....

Yet I say again.

Patrick Stewart!

Also Brent Spiner (drool)

Passed Beyond Reach

I like both but, star trek because Gene Rodenbury believed in a utopia for the human race where greed and financial gain were redundant and people worked for the betterment, enlightenment and equality were the goals that drove humanity to a better place. I wonder if he passed dissapointed.

Good job he wasent in the FAB forums

I always wanted to be striker. Tall Broad, loyal, strong beard.

Kinda like the dad I wished I had.

I actually got a version of darth vadar (less powers and more insecurity) who looked like striker
