Considering all the things she has done throughout her life, for embracing change, for longevity, for every person who's life she's touched, for having the eyes of the world on her because of who she was when she was born and not having much choice in her career... I'm going with the Queen.

American here. Before moving, I had no understanding of how symbolic the queen is here. As someone from a society naturally skeptical of rulers, I agree she deserves the compliment. ???? ????

Susan Ballion- although you might know her better as Siouxsie Sioux (as in ...and the Banshees).

Pretty much marched to her own tune for the last 40 years, was a significant part of the punk & goth scene (if you've ever seen the clip of The Sex Pistols making Reg Grundy swear on live TV- guess who is sat there with them).

She did 'Girl Power' before most of the spice girls were born, and without using it as marketing bollocks, her image and sound is iconic without trying to be an icon- she's just Siouxsie...smart, sassy and effortlessly cool
