Do you boil your kettle twice

On a lighter note noticed at work the kettle boiled then within 20 seconds the same person boiled it again . What's that all about. Don't tell me you do that aswell

Only because at my age I usually forget if I even boiled it in the first place. So many times I’ve poured cold water into my coffee cup. So now I boil again just to be sure. But with my memory, I can boil it 3 or 4 times before someone says “ you do realise you’ve boiled that already”

Only way to get a good strong cup of water is just boiled and poured directly onto the floating Tea Bag which bloats like a puffer fish on contact.

This is why I re-boil the Kettle otherwise is a soggy wet slop at the bottom of the cup.

Best brew is a 'fizzy' bag caused by boiling water to release the tannins.

You'll know what I mean if you see it yourself.

I boil flasks during the day to use the free Solar and believe me, a 'free energy' cup of tea tastes so much better. 5x flasks per day saving £200 a year and the planet in boiling kettles, just re-boiling at night enough to fill the cups.

In a nice tea shop in Cambridge , I think it was, ........ the sales people tell us precisely how to make the tea with the variety of leaves we buy.

The blend/leaves I like to buy need water at 85 degrees... not boiling... to release their flavour to perfection.

it gets worse though... I do like a brew to stew, so have been known to have to microwave my cuppa to make it drinkable again!

It's different for different teas.

Honestly there's mountains of info out there BUT ....

Use water that has cooled for at LEAST 3 mins for green or white tea.

At lease one min or two mins for Black tea.

I use a water thingy not a kettle and the water is never boiling ........ just what we , very sophisticatedly call, bloody hot.

Well I was brought up by my grandparents and the kettle would be boiled then poured straight into the teapot with the tea cosy put on it and left for 5 minutes before any of us were allowed to have our tea poured into a cup!
