Scotland

Who all enjoys openwater swimming then?

Whos all looking to try and keep it going all through winter?

We are going to try without wetsuit (or swimsuit) as long as possible. Sea temp still not too bad at the moment but will probably start to drop soon.

I wish there was somewhere safe and secluded we could go skinny dipping outdoors. We don't know anywhere though.

I know loads of good places, but none of them are near Coventry! Bit far from the sea...

If your area is correct on your peofile, we used to go to the BIS all the time, or Gatton and swim! Just dont try Earlswood!

We like the odd dip. Swam most days while in Scotland.

Did swim in the local rivers too but have stopped since the government has permitted water companies to dump extra sewage in them

What's the BIS?

Did you swim naked at Gatton Park? I'd be a bit nervous about because it's on private land near a school, if I'm thinking of the same lake as you.

BIS. Its also known as Mercers lake? Cormongers lane is the easiest entrance to it. always clean and safe.

The lakes at Gstton are great. Mix of shallow and deeper towards the side nearer the school. Never swam during term time though!

Just don't try the small one near the Inn on the Pond!

I have swam in the sea at least once a month, without a wetsuit for 2 years now. So much fun

Mercer's Lake in Mercer's Park? I've not been there but it sounds very public. Are we actually talking swimming naked? Have you done that there?

yes but you do have to pick your times! the lower paths are not usually used by dog walkers -they stick to the top. If you go via the entrance i said, keep to the right and there is a little almost cove-like area of the lake, secluded and away from public view. This is where we've headed to usually and had total peace and been happy in the knowledge we wont be seen from the rest of the lake.

Thwres quite a few places arou d thst area thst are brilliant for open swimming though, as well as mentioned, try looking at Copthorne, Nutfield (there are 3 great places right near the Pick your Own place) and a few over Reigate way!

Love it and would love to hear about places in NE Scotland where naked swimming is possible, especially if there is a chance of bumping into you sexy pair...

Awesome! I've sent you a PM. I know you don't check them often but hopefully this is OK.
