It's normal for retail to be 3 months ahead of seasons. Christmas stock generally starts coming in from August.

I've done half my Christmas shopping

It's actually running late this year. Usually turns up in August but wasn't here until September. Last Xmas we had our easter eggs out on Xmas eve....people bought them as well
