White Stag Euthanasia

Chelmsford

A rare white stag on the loose in Manchester has been cornered and shot my the Manchester Armed cops.

A Police spokesman said the stag had been euthanased.

Not sure that slaughtering a fit animal is euthanasia..

All over the news this one...

Travelling

Liverpool, not Manchester.

In fact South Sefton, not even Liverpool.

It was a shit show. Plenty of organisations offered to help relocate it safely, they were told no as police wanted RSPCA - it was wandering roughly 10 minutes walk away from the grassland on which it would have been safe and very likely got lost from.

Police had no idea what they were doing, were not trained for that type of situation.

It was running down Rimrose / Derby road when I saw it....... near to the car place close to Irlam Road. One step to the side and it would have been dead on the dual carriageway in any case and probably a few drivers with it.

I remember the Police surrounding Moaty and Gazza turning up with his fishing rods but the police would not let him through the cordon. I am sure an unarmed officer with a bag of carrots would soon have caught the beast...

Did no one have a horse trailer?

But always easy to second guess, if it had escaped and caused a car crash killing kids we would all be on here saying it was daft to not shoot it when they could have.

One dead deer will be old news tomorrow, dead people would be sackings and public enquiry.

So from a risk assessment point of view it was a simple choice.

Very sad hearing about this.

Could bring bad karma, like a fuel crisis.

A sleeping dart would have been a better idea. Maybe a lasoo, Ace Ventura in a Doe outfit to lure to safety.

So beware all you stags out there, when you go on the rampage you will get shot.
